Commissioned by Rimini Protokoll (Stefan Kaegi) as part of TRUCK TRACKS RUHR 2016. Presented in cooperation with KURZFILMTAGE OBERHAUSEN, LUDWIGGALLERY SCHLOSS OBERHAUSEN and produced by URBANE KUENSTE RUHR.
A truck becomes a mobile auditorium that drives through the city of Oberhausen, framing the city outside. 7 artists have been invited to create 7 audio tracks for 7 different locations in Oberhausen. Over the course of one year (2016-2017), 49 views will be ‘staged’ within Germany’s Ruhr Valley.

About
BLICK AUF DAS BEWEGTE BILD
(VIEW ONTO THE MOVING IMAGE):
The Audio Track was created specifically for this context: the audience sit inside the truck looking out onto this empty field for 5 minutes. During this time three children aged between 8-10 from Oberhausen describe the view the audience is looking at.
The audio recording of the children was made at Theater Oberhausen while they watched (for the first time/ unrehearsed) a video recording of that same view. Over the course of the 5 minutes their descriptions turn into interpretations, and the stability of the ‘live’ image in front of the audience slowly merges into a past or future scenario that is both speculative and personal to the children.
